RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO ANTI-MINING BALLOT INITIATIVE I-186

WHEREAS, we support the responsible development of Montana’s minerals and the good paying jobs associated with the mining industry;

WHEREAS, I-186 would add vague and undefined language, increasing unneeded litigation in Montana’s mining permit process;

WHEREAS, Montana currently has the most stringent mining laws, bonding and permit requirements in the nation to properly protect our environment;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, we oppose ballot I-186 and ask the voters of Montana to reject this anti-mining ballot initiative.
